Scott Shoffner Senior Pastor Pastor Scott came to FCBC in October of 2009. Pastor Scott has a passion for reaching lost people and a desire to see new believers grow and mature as followers of Jesus Christ. This desire started at the age of fourteen when he felt the call of God on his life to surrender to full-time ministry. Ever since that life changing night, he has endeavored to preach and proclaim the Word of God. Pastor Scott has served several churches in different capacities. He has been a music pastor, youth pastor, and since seminary, he has served as a pastor. Being a pastor is his calling and he truly enjoys and embraces the task that God has given him. Pastor Scott comes to FCBC as a graduate of Appalachian State University and holds a B.S. in Applied Communications with a special concentration in public speaking. He is also a graduate of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and holds a M. Div. with a specialization in biblical languages. Currently he is a candidate in the doctoral program at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where is working on a D. Min. degree with a specialization in expository preaching. Rica, his wife, and Pastor Scott are natives of Hickory, NC and love this part of the state. They are excited to be in the Lenoir area serving God and serving FCBC. Their desire is to see this church grow and go in the Lenoir and Gamewell communities and the world. They yearn for the church family to grow deep in their relationship to Jesus and encourage the church family to go by reaching out to the local communities and the world by sharing the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. |

Lester Honson Associate Pastor/Visitation & Senior Adults Pastor Lester came to Flemings Chapel January 2003 from Lawrenceville, Georgia. Lester has an Associates in Bible from Elohim Bible Institute, Castile, NY, and Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate degrees from Gwinnett Hall Baptist College, Lawrenceville, GA. A former missionary to Ireland for 17 years, Lester and his wife, Judy, sensed God's call to come to Lenoir, North Carolina and minister at Flemings Chapel. He is serving as our "resident missionary" in the area of visitation and Senior Adult ministry. Lester loves people and has a heart to win the lost to Christ. |

Danny Plyler Director of Music Danny Plyler leads our worship service on Sunday mornings. He felt a call to worship ministry in the spring of 2002 and began serving the Lord here at Flemings in July of 2002. His main goal in worship ministry is drawing others into the presence of the Lord so they may be able to honor the Lord's faithfulness and be prepared to hear a life-changing word from Him. Danny and his wife Suzy are blessed with three boys - Will, Drew, and Ben. Danny is employed part-time at Flemings Chapel and full-time at South Caldwell High School as their Computer/Technologies' Director. E-mail: dplyler@caa.k12.nc.us |
